Altechna offers beam expanders assembled from diverging and converging lens pair, so there is no focal point inside the beam expander, thus it can be used for high powers. For low expansion ratios (1.3 - 20 times) the Galilean beam expander is preferred due to its simplicity and small size. Standard beam expanders are designed to exhibit diffraction limited performance which means optical path difference along the beam profile is <λ/4. Fused silica material lenses are used which makes the beam expanders suitable for high power and femtosecond applications. Beam expander for any wavelength between 266 - 2000 nm is available on request.
