Polarization optics are important for both intra and extra cavity use. Femtosecond laser sources typically emit broad optical spectrum which needs to be considered in the phase of the optical system design. Our broadband thin film polarizers working at 72 deg angle of incidence allow users to optimize their setups while maintaining the temporal properties of the pulse.
Broadband Ultrafast Thin Film Polarizers are offered with 4 types directed to the application:
- TRANSMISSION POLARIZERS – have a polarizing coating on the input face while the output face is AR coated for p polarization. They can be optimized for the highest transmission of p polarization Tp > 94% or for the best contrast of polarizations.
- REFLECTION POLARIZERS – have a polarizing coating on the input face while the output face is AR coated for both s and p polarizations. They can be optimized for the highest reflection of s polarization Rs > 98% or for best contrast of polarizations Rs:Rp>60:1. Moreover, the AR coated side of a polarizer has a wedge to minimize ghosting.
