Thin Films Coating Technician

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Thin Films Coating Technician to join our coating manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality thin film coatings that meet customer specifications by operating and maintaining vacuum coating equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate vacuum coating chambers efficiently and in accordance with established process instructions to produce thin-film coatings that meet customer specifications
• Learn and apply proper glass handling techniques
• Meet departmental first-pass yield and on-time delivery targets
• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on coating chambers
• Use spectrophotometers and other metrology equipment to ensure coating runs meet performance and quality requirements
• Troubleshoot vacuum chamber and process issues

Required skills

• High school diploma or equivalent education
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings and instructions
• Knowledge of basic machinery and mechanical measuring devices
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring exacting and continuous mental and visual concentration in a consistent manner
• Ability to interpret and apply a variety of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to work of the company
• Communicate effectively (both oral and written), relay instructions and information clearly, provide feedback when appropriate to ensure instructions are understood clearly
• Have a methodical and detail‐oriented approach to work by organizing and prioritizing
• Ability to learn new processes quickly
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

What we offer

• Pay: $19 – $21 per hour (based on experience)
• Day shift (7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.), with a 30-minute lunch break.
